Prerequisites or requirements: Your website should already have indexed pages to fully perform this recipe. 


Why this is important: On-page optimization is absolutely crucial for your SEO efforts, to rank for competitive keywords your pages will need to be properly optimized. 


When this is done: Periodically, every few months depending on how often you create new content. If you always frequently produce highly optimized pages and content, you may review them every 6-12 months.


Who does this: The person responsible for Search Engine Optimization. 



  • Step 1 - Identify the best pages on your site to perform on-page optimization 


Find On-Page optimization opportunities on a website. Easily determine the most important pages in your site, so that you get the highest ROI on the time you spend optimizing your site. 


Outcome: You have filled out the 80/20 Site-Wide On-Page Optimization Worksheet and now know which pages you want to optimize and for which keywords.



  • Step 2 - Perform an On-Page audit on each identified page


Perform an On-Page Optimization Audit on an existing page. Execute a comprehensive SEO audit on any webpage within any site that clearly defines what’s working, what’s not, and action steps on what to work on first. 


Outcome: You have filled out the SEO Audit Worksheet for each page that you have identified in Step 1 of this recipe and now know where each page can be improved.
